Susan and Manuel have managed to combine the privacy and independence of a self catering unit with the generous hospitality of a really good B&B, they were so welcoming when we arrived and were readily available to answer any queries, the breakfast pack provided was extremely generous with offers of refills during the week, we were also offered fresh towels and bedding. The accommodation itself was very comfortable and spacious, felt very fresh and modern with everything we needed, and it was all absolutely spotlessly clean. The location was lovely and quiet, but within easy walking distance of the town. We would definitely stay here again in the future, thank you!

Top quality everything! The suite is totally modern, spacious, thoroughly clean, perfectly equipped, a very generous amount of food supplied to do more than just help you ‘get by’. Extremely comfortable beds and sofas. Even the heating timing was set to suit our late evening returns. Lovely conservatory and garden area. And the perfect location, situated on a quiet cul-de-sac, a few minutes walk into the centre of town. Well worth every penny. Susan and Manuel are the NICEST of people too! Worth 6 stars out of 5. Thank you!

We really enjoyed staying at The Crandard. It was a quiet haven, where we could stay, outside of the city of Dundee. In the evening after a buisy day in the city, it was good to relax in the village of Kirriemuir. After long days, an undisturbed sleep in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. The accommodation was excellent for us, as we were unsure of our schedule and had the facilities for cooking, if late arriving. We were very well catered for and express our thanks to our hosts

We stayed with Susan and Manuel 4 days while visiting family. We were so impressed at the standard of accommodation and hospitality that they offer. We were made very welcome and it felt as if we were a part of their extended family. The Crandard is a part of the couples private house and is located on the southern outskirts of Kirriemuir just off the Forfar Road. Situated on a no through street there is plenty of peace and quiet. There is ample parking at the side of the property and it is a safe area. The accommodation self we found more than adequate with everything to a high standard. Apart from a very large bedroom there is a kitchen/ dinning/tv area with open fire. The suite has a new bathroom which is also renovated to a very high standard. There is also a very large conservatory, overlooking a very large garden which guests can also use. It is an amazing suntrap. Although there is no Scottish breakfast offered Susan and Manuel provide an enormous selection of alternatives. There are cereals, breads, crackers, fresh fruit, starter pack of milk and eggs, selection of coffees and teas. For us that was more than enough. So as they say in Scotland, "If ye go awa hungry then its yer ain fault". Excellent quality for the price. For 4 nights we only paid 295,00 UK sterling. The Crandard are awaiting Scottish Tourist Board classification but for us this accommodation deserves 5 stars. We will certainly be using The Crandard for future visits back home to Scotland.

I really enjoyed my stay here visiting family - magical place surrounded with interesting history and folklore, and very peaceful. The B&B owners are lovely, friendly and leave you to do your own thing. The fire stove is also amazing! Everything about the place and area is interesting, pretty and relaxing with plenty of very interesting places/sites to explore.

Absolute perfection The holiday I returned totally relaxed and happy, major factor to which was the place we stayed at, The Crandard - I highly recommend. This business wins against the best places I have ever stayed at! I don't know where to begin, the list of good things I can say about the place will take time, and I definitely intend to put it all here when I get a chance. First time in Scotland and I am thinking, if this is what Scotland offers to visitors in terms of accommodation, I might redirect my holiday plans prioritising Scotland over any country abroad. The location of The Crandard is also brilliant, like everything else. Free parking for whatever vehicle you have got, most cars can fit on the driveway, but even if bigger - plenty of space in front, on the road, which is a quiet and hence a safe one. The Bon Scott statue is a short walking distance from here, few minutes. Same for the amazing park with waterfalls. Kirriemuir offers you everything you may ever need during your stay and all is within reach from The Crandard. Most importantly, there is not a single thing that can be said as a negative. From the minute I opened the door, I have been wowing and admiring this highest standard, call it 5-star (6 of 5, if you like). There was everything you would ever need at home, all perfectly clean and tidy, ready for what you wish to do. You enter from the conservatory, warmly welcoming you into the bright and sparkling interior. We found a whole welcoming letter and a folder with directions and instructions etc. There is a lovely garden in the back, with chairs and bench. You also have a view of the front of the house from the living room/kitchen. There is breakfast, treats, tea, coffee, milk and everything ready. We even had a welcoming message on a big whiteboard, which was so sweet! There is heating AND a fireplace, set and ready for you to just start it (please read the instructions if it's your first time). All appliances you may need as well - toaster, kettle, microwave+grill+oven combi, ceramic hobs, etc. Businesses of this kind can only learn here. No other place can beat this cleanliness, the interior, the customer service etc. Needless to say that I recommend the Crandard to anyone who wants the best and highest value.
